Is Tinder free to use?
Yes! You can download Tinder, create a profile, swipe through potential connections, match, and chat for free. We also offer premium subscriptions (Tinder Plus, Gold, and Platinum) that unlock additional features like unlimited likes and Passport.
How do I create an account?
Download the Tinder app for iOS or Android, or visit Tinder.com on your web browser. You can sign up using your phone number, Facebook account, or Google account. You'll then be guided to set up your profile with photos and a bio.
What is the minimum age requirement?
You must be at least 18 years old to use Tinder. We take safety seriously and have strict age verification processes in place.
Matching & Chatting
How does matching work?
Tinder works on a double opt-in system. You swipe right to like someone, and left to pass. If that person also swipes right on you, it's a match! You can only chat with people you have matched with.
Can I unmatch someone?
Yes. If you no longer wish to communicate with a match, open your chat with them, tap the shield icon or the three dots in the top corner, and select "Unmatch." This will remove them from your match list and you from theirs.
What if I accidentally swiped left on someone?
If you have a Tinder Plus, Gold, or Platinum subscription, you can use the "Rewind" feature to bring back the last profile you swiped left on.
Safety & Privacy
What is Photo Verification?
Photo Verification is a safety feature that allows you to prove you look like your photos. You'll be asked to take a series of selfies mimicking poses. Once verified, you'll get a blue checkmark on your profile, showing others you're the real deal.
How do I report a user?
If you encounter suspicious behavior or harassment, you can report a user directly from their profile or your chat. Tap the shield icon or the three dots and select "Report." All reports are confidential.
Can I hide my profile?
Yes, you can turn off "Show me on Tinder" in your settings. You won't appear in the card stack, but you can still chat with your existing matches.
Premium Features
What is Tinder Passport?
Passport allows you to change your location to anywhere in the world. You can swipe and match with people in a city before you even arrive. This feature is available to Tinder Plus, Gold, and Platinum subscribers.
What are Super Likes?
A Super Like lets a potential match know you're particularly interested in them before they swipe. When you Super Like someone, your profile appears with a blue star in their stack.
